I had the chance to tattoo a piece from my flash book sketches! I loved doing this tattoo as i had a chance to really use my own ideas for the colour scheme. I loved going really dark with the Japanese fan’s background, giving the sense of the koi been above murky water scene. I did a quick draft of the colours on my iPad using procreate just so i could know which colours i wanted to contrast with. its really important to keep pushing bound ires as an artist whilst also maintaining a clean and legible tattoo. I appreciated my client coming to Leeds for this tattoo and making the effort to sit for a long session. She comes from Scarborough each time for her pieces which im grateful for.
