Tattoo Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

This is the most frequently asked question before getting a tattoo, and the answer is yes, it’s not painful but annoying sense of pain. Imagine a small cat scratch feeling. Smaller tattoos hurt less as longer tattoo sessions, the skin over time becomes more soar as the endorphins kick in. It’s not as painful as you imagine in your head, as soon as people begin the session, the first thing they say is “it’s not actually that bad!”.

How long does a tattoo take?

Getting a tattoo is not a quick process and should not be rushed as its something you live with forever. Small tattoo sometimes take long due to detail, or the simplicity of it. A larger tattoo will take long, but again depends on the style of tattoo. A sleeve for example would take more than one sitting, there is no number or set time and session for a tattoo. It takes as long as it takes, so it’s perfect.

How much does a tattoo cost?

The price of a tattoo will be quoted before the tattoo session, or given over a consultation, depending on the tattoo style. There is no set price for a tattoo.

Do you accept walk in tattoos?

Yes! We accept walk in tattoos, it’s always best to drop a call, WhatsApp or email before just in case we have already got many walk-in appointments when you arrive.  We accept walk in tattoos from 11am-6pm. please be patient if the studio is busy with walk in appointments, we will do our best to fit you in!

How long will my tattoo take to heal?

A tattoo after completed, it’s basically an open wound until it start to heal. When the healing stage occurs (which can vary from person to person), this can take around 3-4 days after the tattoo session. The tattoo will then go into a healing stage. Like any wound, it will go dry and form a protective layer (scab). Every individual will heal differently from others. Some people heal faster than others. Your artist will go over how to look after your tattoo.

If I feel sick, should I still come to my tattoo appointment?

Getting a tattoo whilst your immune system isn’t 100% is not a good idea. If your immune system is already trying to fight your illness, your aftercare and tattoo process will also add more pressure onto your current immunity. Call or email the studio to reschedule your appointment.

Is tanning OK after I have my tattoo?

It will be very temping to sunbathe or use a tanning machine if you’re going on holiday straight after your appointment, but burning the tattoo will ruin the healing process and will not heal the way it should. You don’t want to be sunbathing on the area for a few months, ideally.

What should I get? And where? How much is the tattoo?

This is all down to your personal preference. You can get whatever you want as long as the tattoo artist is happy to do the design for you and placement.
